Pansy Higgins, age 103
Staff Pansy Higgins, age 103, of Bostic passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015. She was a native of Yancey County, the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Byrd Higgins, a retired waitress and a member of Spindale Church of the Brethren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Willard Higgins and sisters Letha Brown and Dora Poteat. Left to cherish her memory are a brother Roscoe Higgins; sisters Virginia Harris, Gladys Cox and Earline Smith all of SC. Funeral services were held at Crowe's Funeral Chapel. Rev. Perry Jones and Rev. Russell Payne officiated. Burial followed in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Rutherford County or to Spindale Church of the Brethren. Crowe's Mortuary is serving the family.
