Patricia Ann Godfrey Smith, age 81 of Forest City died Sunday, May 25, 2025.

Patrica was born September 16, 1943, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Willie Chivous Godfrey and Elsie Alberta McClellan Godfrey.

Pat was a member of Crestview Baptist Church, and she retired from Isothermal Community College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Monty Godfrey, Eddie Godfrey, and Bo Godfrey, and sisters, Amanda Toney and Wendy Dominguez.

Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Smith Harris and husband David of Rutherfordton, her grandchildren, Lauren and Taylor Harris, her sister, Kim Godfrey Hawkins and husband Tim of Caroleen as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will have a private service.
