Patriot Shoot raises money for ICC Foundation

Blue Ridge Excavating was the top team in the inaugural Patriot Shoot at Cleghorn Gun Club, benefiting the Isothermal Community College Foundation. Pictured are Todd Hunnicutt (left to right), Tim Chapman, Justin Moore and Tim Davis.

The second annual Patriot Shoot was held last Friday to raise money for the Isothermal Community College Foundation.

The sporting clays event was held at the Cleghorn Gun Club, a world-class venue located on Union Road in Rutherfordton and owned by Tryon Resorts.

Thirteen teams participated in the event, which raised more than $13,000 for the Isothermal Community College Foundation. The organization provides financial supports to programs of the college.

The winning team was Blue Ridge Excavating of Bostic. Team members were Todd Hunnicutt, Tim Davis, Tim Chapman and Justin Moore.

Meridian Construction Consultants took second place. Team members were Abe Moody, David Thompson, Frenchie Delahoussaye and Todd Kirby.

The top individual shooter was Tim Davis with Frenchie Delahoussaye in second place.

James Cowan took first place in the Lewis Class, followed by Mark Harris in second and Jason Harrill in third.

The Platinum Sponsors were Cleghorn Gun Club and Republic Services.

Gold sponsors were Atlanta Consulting Group, Canteen Vending, Chatterbox Creative, Duke Energy, Meridian Construction Consultants, Main Street Insurance Group/Keystone and RiverStone Business Park. The Silver Sponsors were Blue Ridge Excavating and Harris Home Care.

Patriot Sponsors were James and Myra Cowan, Walter and Lucille Dalton, Bob and Carolyn Keever, BB&T, Blue Skudlarick, Lakeside Mills, LS3P and Turner Trucking. There were also 13 platform sponsors.

Organizers deemed the event a success and are already planning next year's shoot.
