AMAZING! The word for the absolutely spectacular day for the PAWS 1st Annual Golf Tournament at Bald Mountain Golf Course, Rumbling Bald Resort, Lake Lure. 52 golfers turned out to play on behalf of the animals of Rutherford County. After four rainy days, the sun finally came out that morning and shone gloriously against a cloudless blue sky and gorgeous fall foliage. We couldn't have asked for a better backdrop.
During the registration process, golfers purchased Mulligans, Raffle tickets, and delighted in grabbing up a free assortment of danishes, donuts, fresh fruit, and a hot cup of coffee. Upon locating their assigned cart, participants were again treated to a goodie cup of healthy and fun snacks, plus a bottled water to help them keep their energy up for the four hour event. Upon returning from playing, the golfers were treated to a yummy lunch at The Gardens Restaurant, then enjoyed watching the winners receive their prizes for Men's Lowest Score, Ladies Lowest Score, Best Team Low Score, & Closest To The Pin. We also raffled off a number of great prizes to the delight of many winners.
PAWS wants to thank Tournament Coordinator Sydney Beck and her sister Helene Hampton for putting this event together! They spent six months and countless hours canvassing Rutherford County for Hole Sponsors, Raffle prizes, and private donations. We could not have pulled this off without you both.
