Pearl Bradley Hardin, age 91

Pearl Bradley Hardin, age 91 of Forest City passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016.

She has recently been a resident of Oak Grove Nursing Center in Rutherfordton. Pearl was born March 24, 1925 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Henry D. Bradley and Hattie Epley Bradley. She worked for nineteen years with Florence Mill Company and later in the cafeteria at Cool Springs School where she retired after fourteen years service. Pearl was a faithful member of Crestview Baptist Church where she worked in the summer Bible School and was involved in all church activities.

She was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and knitting, especially baby blankets for family and friends. Tending her flowers was a joy to her and she, along with her late husband always had a vegetable garden every summer. Pearl was a devoted and loving mother and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.

Her husband, Kenneth Hardin, Sr., her son, Marshall Hardin and granddaughter, Kay Eitle Newton all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Ken Hardin, Jr. and his wife Patti of Forest City, a daughter, Katherine H. Eitle of Rutherfordton as well as her grandchildren, Marty Hardin, Hope King-Jenkins, Stacie DuVall Hair, Alyson Hardin Mayse, and Brent Hardin. There are also thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at the Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Kevin Rohm officiating. Interment followed in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
