Phillip Leon Champion, 63 of Mill Spring, NC passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011. Memorial services were held at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Mr. Champion was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh B. and Daisy T. Champion; one brother, Hoyt Champion and wife, Martha and a grandson, Austin Bishop.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Blanton Champion; two daughters, Melissa Young  and husband, Norris of Forest City, NC and Crystal Adair of Forest City, NC; one sister, Brenda Lanford and husband, Mickey of Green Creek, NC; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church at 123 Beulah Church Rd., Tryon, NC 28782-8886.
