Phillip William "Bud" Crotts, age 65



Phillip William "Bud" Crotts, age 65, of Ellenboro, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Creed Willard Crotts ad Ottile Lewis Crotts, and widower of the late Teresa Dobbins Crotts. Bud was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church where he was a member and treasurer of the United Methodist Men and was a very integral part of the food ministry and bus ministry of the church. He was a friend to everyone and did many things for people without ever wanting any credit for it. He was also a member of Old Hickory Gun Club and was an avid fisherman. Bud retired as an engineer for Parker Hannifan Corporation and was a US Army veteran during the Vietnam Conflict.

Survivors include his son, Matt Crotts and wife Danette of Belwood; his daughter, Nikki Crotts Scruggs of Rutherfordton; a brother, Johnny Crotts; a sister, Annette White; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held with Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
