Twenty-two Isothermal Community College practical nursing students were awarded their caps and pins at a special ceremony this week.

The Capping and Pinning Ceremony, held at The Foundation, is the traditional graduation event for the students in the Practical Nursing program.

After marching in to the processional and hearing an invocation by Minister Lewis Jackson, the new nurses were welcomed by Ava Yamouti, Isothermal's dean of Health and Public Services. Instructor Carole Koehler, MSN, RN, presented the class awards. Following a message from graduate Kimberly Brown, instructor Erin Maietta, MSN, RN, delivered the commencement address.

Throughout the remainder of the ceremony, Stephanie Denison, MSN, RN, director of the Practical Nursing program, was assisted by Koehler and Maietta. After the presentation of roses and lamps, there was special music by Steve Hardin, a candle lighting ceremony and a benediction by Jackson.

The class officers were also recognized. They are: Kimberly Brown, president; Sarah Rodriguez, vice president; Chelsey Skinner, secretary; Madison Crain, treasurer; and Megan Townsend, class representative.

Roses and floral arrangements were donated by Waters Florist. Yvonne Vickers was also on hand to take pictures of the graduates.
