Rail Trail clean-up held

The Rail Trail clean-up on Sunday, April 30th was a success with 13 bags of trash being removed from the trail. Volunteers divided up to clean the entire 8 miles of trail from Spindale to Gilkey. The Rutherford Outdoor Coalition (ROC) would like to say thank you to everyone that donated their time to help us clean this beautiful trail.

It was a beautiful day and we saw many people out enjoying the trail. Many trail users stopped to thank us for our efforts. We want to encourage everyone that uses the trail to pick up trash when they see it. Picking up just one piece of trash along your way can make a big difference. If we all do our part, the trail will stay beautiful and clean.

ROC will have another clean-up of the Rail Trail in the Fall. Email Hallie Zeedik at trails@rutherfordoutdoor.org or call (828) 625-9983 ext. 505 to learn more ways that you can get involved. Information about our organization including membership benefits and dates for our clean-up's, trail work days, group hikes, and group river floats can be found on our website at Rutherfordoutdoor.org and on our Facebook page.
