Realtors, Folks Cleaners Coat Drive: The Rutherford County Board of Realtors and Folks Cleaners are collecting gently used coats for distribution. Real estate offices around the county have established drop-off points. Children’s coats will be taken to Folks Cleaners to be cleaned and prepared for distribution through Yokefellow. The holiday season will officially begin in downtown Forest City Thursday night during the Annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony from 6 to 9 p.m. 

Thomas Jefferson Football Coach Jerry Cash joked last Friday that the season is usually going pretty well if your playing football after Thanksgiving. Consider the goal reached for the Gryphons in 2014.

In September 1964, the citizens of Rutherford County voted nearly 18 to 1 for a bond issue to build the first buildings that would create the campus of Isothermal Community College. Fifty years later, the College has grown to include a campus in Polk County, offers 87 programs of study, provides customized training to area business and is home to Rutherford Early College High School.
