Reola McCraw Hines, 97, of Mooresboro, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012. 

A native of Rutherford County, she was born on November 25, 1914, a daughter of the late Romeo and Molly Smith McCraw. She was a retired Nursing Assistant from Edgewood Nursing Home, now known as Autumn Care Nursing Center. She was a member of Hick’s Grove Baptist Church and also a member of the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. 


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Allison Hines; one son, Gene Hines; one granddaughter, Lynne Hines; one son-in-law, Dan Mays.

She is survived by her sons, Merlin Hines and wife Margaret of Forest City, Marlin Hines and wife Irene of Chester, SC, Miles Lee Hines and wife Nancy of Mooresboro, Jack Hines and wife Faye of Rutherfordton, and Randy Hines and wife Susan of Kennesaw, GA; her daughters, Ebba Mays of Marietta, GA and Carolyn Kinney and husband Albert of Mooresboro, and Darlene Caldwell and husband Tom of Marietta, GA; her brother, Marshall McCraw and wife Shirley of Spartanburg; her sisters, Addie Lee Hancock of Boiling Springs, SC and Gracie Harris of Spartanburg; one sister-in-law, Dot McCraw of Spartanburg; seventeen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ad Hopper and Rev. Jack Crain officiating.

McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral Home is serving the Hines family.
