Reverend Bobby Lee West, age 80, of Forest City, NC, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012.

Bobby was born September 10, 1932 in Rutherford County to the late Hal West and Cecil Daggerhart West.  He pastored several area churches which included Faith Baptist Church of Forest City for 21 years and Mt. View Baptist Church of Polk County for 18 years.  He also worked in the textile industry for over 50 years before his retirement.  He enjoyed fishing and will always be known as a kind man who loved his family and had a big heart for others. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Jennie West and two daughters, Sharon Robbins and Joan Watson.

Survivors include his son, Roger West of Forest City and one daughter, Mickey Branch and husband, Robert of Green Creek; seven grandchildren, Angie Owensby and husband, Matt, Theresa Einkhouser and husband, Eric, Phillip West, Tabitha Owensby and husband, Adam, Frank Branch III, Samuel Watson, John Michael Watson and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Charles Johnson officiating.  Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
