Reverend C.L. “Pete” Peterson, age 82, of Forest City, NC, passed away Sat. Feb. 11, 2012.
Pete was born May 30, 1929 in Mitchell County, NC to the late Charlie L. Peterson and Julia Edwards Peterson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lucy Peterson; one daughter, Deborah Jennings and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Raulerson Peterson; two daughters, Brenda Hunsucker and husband, Ken of Cherryville, NC and Rita Hester and husband, Larry of Pelham, AL; one son, Rev. Danny Peterson and wife, Tina of King, NC; four step-daughters, Elaine Duncan and husband, Norris of Gallatin, TN, Pat McNeal and husband, Curtis of Glen St. Mary, FL, Sandy Lauramore and husband, J.C. of Macclenny, FL, Angel Radford and husband, Brian of Rutherfordton, NC and one step-son, Andy Raulerson and wife, Kathy of Hiram, GA.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren and sixteen step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Pleasant View Community Church. A graveside service was conducted at Eternal Hills Cemetery (formerly Sunset Memorial Park).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, POB 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
