Reverend Joseph B. Flowe, age 82 of Forest City passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

He is a member of Life-Stream Church in Chesnee, SC. J.B. was the former pastor of Oakland Worship Center, and a director and graduate of Omni Bible School. He taught at Omni Bible Training Center and helped launch two Bible Schools in Lagos, Nigeria, Africa. Ministering to prisons and was a servant to the community. As a business owner, he was a Master of Mechanics.

Known as "J.B", he grew up outside of Charlotte, NC in the Mint Hill area with a love for drag racing, followed by a love for the air. After piloting in the United States Navy, he continued private piloting services.

As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, he leaves worn pages of his treasured Bibles he used as his navigation system going forward in life. After J.B. gave his life to Christ, he was completely committed to the call. He would always point you towards Jesus. It is with love and thankfulness we can celebrate his life and legacy.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Jessie Hutchins Flowe, and her children, Robbie Radford, Sharon Causby, Kim Ross, and the late Chris Radford.

He is also survived by his daughters, Debra Flowe, Carrie Flowe Moore, Jennifer Flowe McConnell as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and brother, Tom Flowe. There are also a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. His brothers, Bill Flowe and Bobby Flowe preceded him in death.

A memorial service was held in The Padgett and King Chapel. Military honors followed the service on the chapel lawn by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
