Reverend Rick Waters, age 52, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013.

Rick was born September 10, 1961 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Lewis Waters and Elizabeth Greene Waters.  He owned and operated Home Solutions a home improvement business and worked for the Magnolia House.  His passion was preaching the Word of God and doing God’s Work.  He was an ordained minister and a faithful member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness. Rick taught the adult Sunday school class and worked with the youth at the church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Waters and Joe Waters.

Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-six years, Cathy Waters; son, Paul Waters of Rutherfordton; four brothers, Carl Waters and wife, Diane of Spindale, Jimmy Waters of Ruth, Wade Waters and wife, Ann of Spindale and Troy Waters of Forest City; four sisters, Jeannette Beck of Forest City, Mary Conner and husband, Robbie of Ruth, Lisa Goode of Forest City and Donna Hardin and husband, Curtis of Rutherfordton.  He is also survived by twenty five nieces and nephews and twenty-five great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Leon Brown and Reverend Bobby Brown officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.
