Richard (Rick) Cooper, age 71, of Union Mills, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

Born in Peekskill, NY, he was the son of the late Samuel Cooper and Agnes Mason Cooper. He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Christine Cooper.

Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one son, Richard Cooper Jr. of Union Mills and three daughters: Leslie Cooper Gordineer of Clemmons, NC, Christine Feimster of Spindale and Stacey Cooper of Peekskill, NY. He is also survived by a sister Beverly Gordineer and a brother Keith Bohler, both of Cortlandt Manor, NY, eight grandchildren, three great granddaughters, four nieces and four nephews.

A private Celebration of Richard's life was held at Crowe's Mortuary with Military Honors by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Burial was held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
