Rita Davis, age 69, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026.

Rita was born April 15, 1957 in Rutherford County to the late Joe Tesseneer and Alberta Crotts Tesseneer. She was a dedicated homemaker. She attended Long Branch Road Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Lynch and brother, Ricky Tesseneer.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 49 years, Steve Davis; her daughter, Tammy Wingo (Bobby) of Forest City; siblings, Bobby Tesseneer (Debbie) of Rutherfordton, Nadine Bailey of Forest City, Roger Tesseneer (Kay) of Forest City, Darlene Roper of Rutherfordton, Mike Tesseneer (Kim) of Ellenboro, Sandy Dunkle (Donnie) of Forest City; grandchildren, Steven Downey and Kera Wingo.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1pm Thursday, October 29 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Ruppe officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
