PrintRobert Jerry Powell, 81, of Alexander Mills, NC died Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
Born in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Horace and Jeanette Robbs Powell. He was a US Army veteran and obtained his associates degree in criminal justice. Jerry worked many years with Cone Mills Corporation and the Lil' Cubbard in Rutherfordton.
Survivors include his sons Jeff and wife Karen of Rutherfordton, Jason and wife Pam of Conover; brothers, Larry Powell of Cliffside and Mike Powell of Rutherford County; sisters, Debbie Moose of Statesville and Rhonda Beheler of Forest City, 6 grandchildren.
The funeral was held in the Padgett & King Chapel on September 3 with Rev. Curtis McDaniel officiating.
