Robert Paul Kennedy, age 75, of Ellenboro, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014.

Born April 24, 1939 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Paul M. Kennedy & Ollie Grant Kennedy.  Robert was a veteran of the US Army & was a lifetime member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. He owned & operated a rug mill for many years & worked in textiles as an equipment repair technician. He also was a certified welder & machinist. Robert enjoyed working on tractors & spending time with his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Beaty Kennedy & daughter, Kimberly Ann Kennedy. 

Survivors include 1 daughter, Amy Jennings & husband, Doug; son, Alan Kennedy & wife, Nichole all of Ellenboro; 2 grandsons, Brandon Jennings & Jace Kennedy; granddaughter, Emily Jennings; 2 sisters, Melba Horn & Nancy Walker both of Ellenboro.

Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with Reverend Eugene Passmore & Reverend Michael Sepaugh officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
