Robert Wayne Hargett, age 67

Robert Wayne Hargett, age 67, husband of Susan Guffey Hargett of Union Mills, passed away Wednesday August 24, 2016.

Wayne was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Joe Preston Hargett and Pearl Harris Hargett. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart in defense of his country. He was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his wife Susan he is survived by his children Connie Taylor of Forest City, Jeff Hargett of Union Mills and Jason Hargett of Kernersville; siblings Calvin and Ray Hargett of Granite Falls and Vivian Hoyle of Union MIlls and 6 grandchildren.

Services were held at Crowe's Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Eternal Hills Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Crowe's Mortuary & Crematory is assisting the family.
