On Saturday, September 16, Rutherford Outdoor Coalition (ROC) and volunteers from the community came together to clean the Broad River. We had a great group of volunteers and removed a truckload of trash from the river. Many large pieces of trash, including 4 buckets, a pallet, and an old freezer door were removed.

The river looks great and it's all thanks to the help of volunteers from the community!

Several of the participants were part of ROC's River Steward program. The program allows people that are passionate about protecting our rivers the chance to adopt a river section and help keep it clean and clear of debris throughout the year. They play a large part in keeping our rivers beautiful.
