Ruth Brittain Bumgardner passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022.

Ruth was born January 4, 1925, to CA and Millie Hipps Brittain. She grew up in Casar, where she met the love of her life, Lee Roy Bumgardner. After graduating Casar School, she then pursued a teaching degree at Appalachian State Teachers College. She was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lee Roy Bumgardner, son Dennis Owen Bumgardner and daughter Myra Bumgardner Walker.

She is survived by sons Harvey Bumgardner (Sandy) and Charles Bumgardner (Tonya); eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is also survived by sister Marie Brittain Peters.

A memorial service was held October 8 at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church.
