Ruth Goode Melton, 92, of Rutherfordton, passed away on Tuesday, August 31. Services were held at Mt. Vernon Baptist Chuch. Burial followed at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her parents, William Waltes Goode and Louetta Carpenter Goode; three sisters, Elma Tate, Edith Elliott and Katherine Goode and one brother, James Goode.

She is survived by two sisters, Mattie Bowers and Lucille Biggerstaff and one brother, Francis Goode.
