Rosendin Electric was also busy this season making a list and checking it twice. The company collected, and with the help of Bob and Barbara Booker, delivered two truckloads of toys to our office. Rosendin Electric is the electric contractor on the Facebook project here in the county. “Our goal with our annual Rutherford Weekly Toy Drive is to provide new toys to underprivileged children at Christmas and this years toy drive exceeded our company’s expectations” stated Rutherford Weekly General Manager Mike Marlow. Nearly 15 million children in the United States – 21% of all children – live in families with incomes below the federal poverty level – $22,050 a year for a family of four. Research shows that, on average, families need an income of about twice that level to cover basic expenses.* It’s a wonderful feeling to be a part of a toy drive that helped insure kids in Rutherford County were able to smile on Christmas morning despite their income level. Thanks to everyone who made this years Toy Drive a huge success.
