Sgt. Dustin Owens is the Rutherfordton Police Officer of the Year. Owens, shown here with his wife Brittany and their children, Emily and Lauren, and Santa Claus was recognized at the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Rutherfordton Saturday night. The honor comes from Sgt. Owens' peers at the police department.
