Sarah M. Lane Maxwell, 73, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Services were held at Harrelson Funeral Home. Internment was held in Sunset Memorial Park.

Mrs. Maxwell was preceded in death by her second husband, Carey P. Maxwell and her parents, Moody Daniel Lane and Bessie Leona Walker Lane.

She is survived by three daughters, Anita Chatham Buchanan and husband, Denver of Forest City, Teresa Steppe and husband, Bruce of Rutherfordton and Alica Cantrell and husband, Wayne of Spartanburg; one son, Johnny Marlowe and wife, Danielle of Forest City; one sister, Joyce Davis and husband, Ken of Chesnee, SC; one brother, Ivan Lane and wife, Billie of Forest City; and her first husband, John G. Marlowe.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Harrelson Funeral Home is serving the family.
