Shirley McKinney Glover, age 85, of Forest City NC, passed away June 23, 2026.

Shirley lived her life as a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, as well as a friend to many.

Her faith in God was unwavering and carried her through every season of life. Most of her life she was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and in the last years she was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

Shirley was a shining light at First Union in Bostic for many years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bobby Glover; her parents George C. McKinney and Minnie Bell Logan McKinney and her siblings, Marie Monteith, Ruth Roberson, Helen Long, Edith Jones and James McKinney.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rhonda Hardin (Jeff); her son, Rodney Glover (Tammy); her grandchildren, Christian Glover, Corbin Hardin, and Cragan Newton (Shane); her great-grandson, Cooper; and her sister, Barbara Epley (Don).

A Memorial service was held June 27 at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Earley officiating.
