The 2023 Shop With The Sheriff's event was a success with over 50 children having an opportunity shop with Sheriff Aaron Ellenburg, the sheriff's staff, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Family Resources of Rutherford County, and all of the other volunteers who participated in this event.

Walmart in Forest City was the host for the shopping spree and Chick-fil-A Forest City provided breakfast. The sheriff's office thanks all the Rutherford County Schools partners who participated in the Jail and Bail fundraisers and the generous donors of Rutherford County who made the event successful.
