A celebration of life and burial ceremony with full military rites was conducted last week at Arlington National Cemetery for Brent Allen "Hoss" Hendrix, formerly of Rutherford County. He passed away unexpectedly in April. Brent, who was a Chase High graduate was in the US Army. He lost a leg in the 2006 Iraq War and sustained several other life threatening injuries when his Jeep hit an IED (Improvised Explosive Device). Over the years he had hundreds of surgeries and was fitted with a prosthetic leg. He had the opportunity to be a spokesperson for the military and participated in the Wounded Warriors projects for years, representing the county, state and nation. His sister, Michelle, and her family were among those attending the service at Arlington. Friends from the area and other places where Brent lived also attended the service.
