Steve Penson, Sr., age 75, of Forest City, passed away October 27, 2021.

Steve was born October 12, 1946 in Cleveland County to the late Jack Penson and Mary Kay McArthur Penson. He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, and earned an Associates Degree from Isothermal Community College. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in a Seabee unit during the Vietnam War. Steve was the owner of McArthur's Metal Fabrication in Forest City for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Danny Penson and Kelly Ward.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Pat Penson; daughter, Shelley Gordon (Jimmy) of Ellenboro; son, Steve Penson, Jr. (Sherry) of Bostic; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brother, Greg Penson (Ginger) of Rutherfordton and sister, Candace Funderburk (Jeff) of Dallas.

A graveside service was conducted November 1, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Bostic Cemetery with Rev. George Whitmire officiating.
