Susie Lawson Neal, 72, of Bostic, died Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

She was born in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late A. L. Lawson and Ivey Sue Reid Lawson. She worked as a seamstress for many years and was also a homemaker spending many years helping to raise her grandchildren who called her Maw Maw. Susie was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Ellenboro.

Survivors include her husband, Timothy V. Neal of the home, son, John Neal of Bostic; daughter, Teresa Marshall (Kyle) of Rutherfordton; brothers, Carl Lawson of Forest City and Larry Lawson of Bostic; sisters, Janice Toney of Forest City and Rita Cash of Harris; grandchildren, James Neal, Megan Neal, Amber Neal, Jessica Neal, Reese Marshall, and Morgan Marshall; and great grandchildren, Brayden Cole, Maverick Williams, Alex Neal, Lilly Neal, Waylon Green, and McKenzie Stephens.

Funeral services were held July 12 at Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Frank Lewis and Rev. Michael Cash officiating.
