Thomas Canie “Tommy” Butler, 67, of Bostic, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014.

Tommy was the son of the late Canie Butler and Mattie Queen Butler. He was a retired truck driver & was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church. He was also a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.  Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Maloney Butler of the home; a son, Tommy R. “Tommy II” Butler & wife Shawna of Stafford, Virginia; a daughter, Mandy Butler Vaughan & husband Shane of Easley, SC; step-son, Chad Hart McFarland & wife Heather of Bostic; sisters, Edith Bridges of Polkville, & Karen Zaleski of Tryon; grandchildren, Taylor & Cassidy Butler, Mason Vaughan, & Halle & Casse McFarland.  Funeral services were held at Sunshine United Methodist Church with Rev. Keys Pendleton officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunshine United Methodist Church, 367 Depriest Rd Bostic, NC 28018.
