Thomas David "Tommy" McBrayer, Sr., age 76 of Forest City passed away Friday, February 26, 2016.

Tommy was born in Forest City, on January 4, 1940 and was a son of the late Ruben Blanton McBrayer and Marie Huntley McBrayer.

He was also a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, a graduate of Cool Springs High School and Wofford College. Tommy worked for many years with his brothers in the family business, McBrayer Furniture Company until he established McBrayer Motors which he operated for thirty years in Forest City. He was also a former member of the Forest City Town Council. His brother, Blanton McBrayer preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Wood McBrayer, his children, Thomas David McBrayer, Jr., of Charlotte, Sallie McBrayer Sessoms and husband Brian of Forest City, and John E. McBrayer and wife Jennifer of Forest City, a brother, Eddie McBrayer of Forest City as well as his beloved five grandchildren.

Funeral services were in the First Baptist Church with Reverend J. Anthony Spencer and Reverend Dr. Garin Hill officiating. Interment followed in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
