The Omegabytes, a robotics team filled with a collection of Rutherford County School students, are participating in and hosting the Off Season Thor FIRST Robotics Competition for western North Carolina at RS Central High School located at 641 U Highway 221, in Rutherfordton on Saturday, October 24 from 9am-5pm. The competition is open to the public.

Over 20 teams from across western North Carolina will be gathering in Rutherford County to compete along with our students.

The community is invited to come watch and cheer for the Omegabytes.

This event will showcase what hard work our students have been doing and a great example of events that they have been participating in over the past 10 years of the team's existence.

Even if robots aren't quite your thing, the community is invited to visit food trucks that will be located in the RS Central upper parking lot. A small portion of the proceeds from these vendors will support the robotic team. Food trucks will be available for food between 11am-5pm.
