Troy E. Gordon, age 80

Troy E. Gordon, age 80, of Caroleen, went home to with his Lord and Savior Friday, March 3, 2023.

Troy was born January 13, 1943 to the late Roland Gordon and Zella Vess Gordon. He worked as a loom fixer/supervisor for Cone Mills 30 years and as the supervising funeral assistant at Harrelson Funeral Home for over 14 years. Troy was a member of the Christian Fellowship Missionary Methodist Church s. He was a volunteer fireman for Cliffside Fire Department and later assistant chief and chief. After retirement, he served on the Board of Directors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Merlin Gordon; sister, Judy Gordon Cole and sister-in-law, Beverly Gordon.

Left to cherish fond memories are his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Biggerstaff Gordon; son, Gene Gordon (Sandy) and daughter, Christine Noschese (Bart) all of Rutherfordton; brothers, Glenn Gordon (Pat) of Greenville, SC and Kenneth Gordon of Sandy Mush; sister, Yvonne Lawson (Larry) of Bostic; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held March 8 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ernie Cole and Rev. Lanny J. Funchess officiating. Interment followed with Fire Fighter Honors at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
