Valerie "Val" Porter Heafner, age 66, of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019.

Val was a native of Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William and Wanda Yount Porter and was a pet groomer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Brooke Absher.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband Tim Heafner; children Erin Stewart, Timothy Heafner and Rebecca Absher; sister Pamela Ramsey and 5 grandchildren.

A celebration of Val's life was held at Crowe's Funeral Chapel.

Crowe's Mortuary and Crematory is serving the family.
