Vicki Rogers Sturgill, age 62, of Ellenboro, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026.

Vicki was born April 9, 1964 in Rutherford County, to Linda Black Short of Ellenboro and to the late David Rogers. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School and Isothermal Community College. Her heart's desire to help the elderly led her to become a Licensed Practical Nurse which enabled her to work in Nursing Homes and later to become a medical office assistant in the home healthcare field. She was a member of Bethel Baptist.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a stepfather, Russ Short; husband, Tony Sturgill and brother, Errol Dean Short.

Besides her mother, Linda Short, those left to cherish her memory include her children, Holli Rogers of Forest City, Hailey Sturgill (Vincent) of Ellenboro, Caleb Sturgill (Lindsey) of Dobbinsville, Chelsea Sturgill (Chris) of Dobbinsville and many "bonus" children whom she loved as her own including Amber Martin (Brandon) of Ellenboro; her companion Eddie Jennings; sisters, Denise Barker (Kenny) of Sandy Mush and Cindy Snyder (Paul) of Ellenboro; grandchildren, Autumn Hampton, Addison Hampton, Aliza Hampton, Jordan Kimbrell, Maddux Childree, Zeke Jackson, Gauge Butler, Malachi Sturgill, Aliviyah Jackson, Myles Sturgill; a host of nieces and nephews which includes a special niece, Dallas Snyder.

A memorial service was held June 18 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Trent Jones and Rev. Ryan McCluney officiating.
