Virtual fundraiser Saturday benefits Blue Ridge Hope and Ruff'ton Roots

The Ruff'ton Roots Community Garden is hosting a virtual fundraising event that will be streamed through GiveButter, Facebook, YouTube, and various other platforms for everyone on Saturday, October 23 from 6 to 9 p.m.

The virtual fundraising gala will have an assortment of local artists and musicians featuring their work, humorous skits created by Blue Ridge Hope and Ruff'ton Roots Garden and other features by local businesses, and speakers.

All proceeds raised will be split evenly to benefit Rutherfordton organizations, Ruffton' Roots Community Garden and Blue Ridge Hope.

"We're hoping people will tune in and take advantage of this program and will make a donation to these groups" said Magnolia Long, community development director for the town of Rutherfordton.

Viewers will have the opportunity to donate to the fundraising organizations before, throughout, and after the event.
