Walter Lee “Buzz” Moss Sr., 77, of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, April 20th, 2012.
Buzz was born in Rutherfordton to the late Dr. G.O. Moss and Anna Finch Moss. He was a graduate of Cliffside High School class of 1953 and North Carolina State University class of 1957.
Buzz served in the United States Army and Army Reserve. A good friend and co-worker, he worked as a senior agricultural engineer for Duke Power Company providing over 33 years of distinguished service. He was recognized with the National Friend of Extension Award given by the Epsilon Sigma Phi honorary fraternity of the Cooperative Extension Service. Buzz was well known for his work with North Carolina 4-H clubs. He was an active member and elder of the Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church from 1968 until present.
He was an extraordinary husband, father, and Pop pops. Buzz is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Moss, five children: son Lee Moss and wife Cinda, daughter Mimi Moss Broome and husband Robert, daughter Janie Moss Wilson and fiancé Mike Maginnis, daughter Helen Moss Davis and husband Thomas, and son J. Patrick Moss and wife Kim.
He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 1 great grandson.

Service was held at the Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church.
