Weldon Carey Connor, 73, of Forest City, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014. 

A native of Spartanburg County, South Carolina, he was born on June 18, 1941, a son of the late Thomas Benjamin Conner and Gracie Jeanette Cox Conner. He was a retired Truck Driver and a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460, A.F. and A.M. and was an avid classic car lover, particularly the 1955 Chevrolet Models.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Leland Conner. He is survived by his wife, Ann Richie Conner; three sons, Thomas Ray Conner and wife Kay of Bostic, Tim Robinson and wife Carole of Harris and Wayne Robinson and girlfriend, Tammy Martin of Gaffney; two daughters, Sheila Conner Sane and husband Gary of Rutherfordton and Debra Ferguson and husband Kenny of Kentucky; two sisters, Brenda A. McAbee of Forest City and Cathy Stewart of Fort Mill, S.C.; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A private memorial service was held at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. William Swink officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Mission Healthcare Foundation, Attn. Rathbun House, PO Box 5363, Asheville, NC 28813.
