William Christopher “Chris” Worthy, 67, of Shelby, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. A gathering of family and friends was held at College Farm Rd., Shelby, NC.

Mr. Worthy served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Worthy was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Worthy and Dorothy Patrick Worthy.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Susan Worthy; five children, Jonathan Derek Worthy of Southern Pines, NC; Alissa Beebe Wood and husband, Scott of Apex, NC; Laura Catherine Beebe of Myrtle Beach, SC; Emily Murray Worthy of New Bern, NC and Abigail Christine Worthy of Kings Mountain, NC; five grandchildren; one sister, Janis Greene and husband Mike of Shelby and one brother, Kevin Worthy, also of Shelby, NC.

Memorials may be made to Wendover Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Height Dr, Shelby, NC 28152.
