William Nelson Jones, age 78 of Ellenboro passed away Saturday June 3, 2017.

He was born February 22, 1939 in Ellenboro and was a son of the late William Claudus Jones and Ruth Hughes Jones. Nelson was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was a member and past president of the Woodmen of the World, Camp No. 925, Ellenboro. He also worked in the mechanic shop at the NC Department of Transportation where he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Robinson Jones, a daughter, Tammy Watts of Mill Spring, NC, two sisters, Judy Kay Bowman of Kings Mountain and Barbara Harrison of Ellenboro, a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, as well as a special niece, Tara Toney and her husband, Jason and their son, Isaac Toney, and special friends, Gail, Jimmy, and April Holden all of Ellenboro.

The funeral service was held in the Corinth Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Conner and Reverend Dr. David Jendry officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
