William “Will” Terry Lane, 46

William “Will” Terry Lane, 46, formerly of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012. 

He was born on September 22, 1965, to Verlyn Wallace Lane and Barbara Lancaster Spillers of Leesburg, Florida. He was a graduate of RS Central High School class of 1985. Later he attended Leesburg Community College and earned a degree in cosmetology. He worked as a hairstylist at The Villages of Ocala, Florida. He later moved back to Rutherfordton, NC and worked at many Restaurants including La Strada of Lake Lure, M2 of Spindale, NC and 191 Prime of Rutherfordton, NC before being diagnosed with cancer in February, 2010. He loved his family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews whom he cared for dearly. Terry was blessed with many talents including culinary and decorating skills. He enjoyed the outdoors and gathering all different types of flowers to make that special flower arrangement for his dining room table or for that special someone just to say, “Thank You or I Love You.” He also volunteered at Rutherford Regional Health System until he moved back to Leesburg, Florida in July 2012, to spend his last few months with family. 

He was preceded in death by his father Verlyn Wallace Lane and grandparents Edward and Gladys Lane and Charles and Esmer Lancaster of Rutherfordton NC. 

Left to cherish all the wonderful memories and great advice he gave are his mother Barbara Lancaster Spillers of Leesburg, FL; four brothers Larry Lane and wife Angela of Union Mills, NC, Lee Lane and wife Pattie of Rutherfordton, NC; Wallace Lane of Leesburg, FL; and Frankie Lane of Leesburg, FL. Two sisters Nancy Cummins and husband Greg of Umatilla, FL and Belinda Smith and husband Will of Leesburg, FL. He is also survived by eight nieces, eight nephews, five great-nieces and three great-nephews. 

A memorial service was held at First United Methodist Church Rutherfordton NC. 

Crowe’s Mortuary is serving the family.
