Worth “Dan” Wilkie, age 78, Ellenboro, NC, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
Funeral services were conducted at Bethel Baptist Church.
Dan was born on April 13, 1933 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Ancie Wilkie and Velma Short Wilkie. He served in the US Army as a military policeman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Wilkie.
Survivors include his wife of almost 38 years, Carolyn Wilkie; one daughter, Lisa Shehan and husband, Kevin of Rutherfordton; one son, Eric Wilkie and wife, Amy of Bostic; two sisters, Betty Hensley and husband, Earl of Caroleen, Sandra Morgan and husband, James of Rutherfordton and one brother, Marvin Wilkie and wife, Shirley of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
