Boys and girls ages 13 and younger had an opportunity to be a part of a PGA Junior Golf League this summer, which offered instruction and practice time on the range and course along with rules, etiquette and fun. Ten players took part in the first season, held at Meadowbrook Golf Course. They were: Sara Rothrock, Kelsie Cochran, Katie Culp, Michelle Joseph, Peyton Lawter, Jacob Holland, Derrick Griffin, Andrew Joseph, Joseph Lucas and Zeke Houser. The team played six matches against the Riverbend YMCA team, who won the division title. Youth who are interested in taking part in the league are invited to open practice on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. For more information, call 828-863-2690.
