In 2003, ROC President, Jerry Stensland, saw a need for an organization that could help improve outdoor recreation in Rutherford County. He created Rutherford Outdoor Coalition (ROC) to fill this need.

Softball

R-S Central softball (7-1, 5-0) is still on a roll, aside from the 1-0 non-conference loss to Chesnee, the Lady Hilltoppers are undefeated in conference play. The pitching has been solid with Haley White and Madison Crain. Hitting was a question coming into the season, but they have answered that issue pretty handily.

Wilford Lee Shuford, age 81, of the South Toe Community, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 16th, 2017.

Unlike some other types of hunting, pursuing the turkey is very enjoyable doing with a partner; especially if one is doing the calling and the other is doing the shooting. Most people who have hunted turkey for a period of time will tell you they enjoy calling in a bird as much as shooting one.

Dog Fair and Bake Sale

Sat. March 25, 11am-3pm in Fred's Discount parking lot. In addition to the Bake Sale, there will be refreshments & snacks, Adoptable dogs, RCHS t-shirts, general information, & volunteers to answer questions. All proceeds go to Rutherford County Humane Society's Rescue, adoption, & spay/neuter & community food bank programs. Sponsored by Fred's Discount of Rutherfordton, on Charlotte Rd.
