It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Marvin Wilson, who peacefully departed this life on November 22, 2023.
He was 72 years old, and a devoted husband to Marie Jackson Wilson.
He was born on June 5, 1951, in Bronx, NY to Fred and Dollie Copeland Wilson-Thomas and spent his early years in New Haven, CT.
Marvin is survived by his brothers Fred Wilson, Reginald Wilson, Charles Wilson, and sister Joycelyn Via. His legacy extends through his children Utasha Wilson, Kenyatta Wilson, Zualryna Wilson, and Kiisha Mercey.
Marvin was a graduate of Hill House High School. He bravely served two tours in Vietnam.
Despite the adversities, Marvin's commitment to duty and country earned him an honorable discharge from the US Marine Corps. His passion for supporting fellow veterans was evident through his active involvement with the Rutherford County Veterans Affairs.
Marvin leaves behind his wife Marie Jackson Wilson, his children, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
A gathering of friends and family was held December 2 at Crowe's Mortuary and Crematory.
