Ronny Steve Parris, age 70

Ronny Steve Parris, age 70, of Forest City, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016.

Born April 20, 1946 in Rutherford County, NC, he was the son of James Winfred Parris and Hathleen Holcombe Parris. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Ronny Dale Parris; father, James Winfred Parris; and a brother, Hugh Parris.

Ronny was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and retired from Duke Power after 35 years of service. He was a United States Navy Vietnam veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lunnette Towery Parris; mother, Hathleen Holcombe Parris; a granddaughter and grandson. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was conducted at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, 374 Hudlow Rd, Forest City, NC 28043.
