The fifteenth annual kids & cops big event takes place on Friday, June 22nd from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. It just gets bigger and better every year. The Forest City Police started the event with just crayons and colorbook pages downtown in Forest City years ago. Now it has grown to one of the biggest events in Western Carolina. It is held at Forest City Dunbar Park. You are invited to join thousands who will come out to let the world know that cops are our friends. They help us, watch over us and are always there for us! It’s that one day of every year that we all get together to celebrate “our friends” - the cops who take this time to salute the kids!

As usual, there will be displays and exhibitions by park rangers, sheriff deputies, cops, emergency medical service technicians, pilots, fireman and everybody and anybody that helps make us safer and taken care of day and night. The fire truck will be having “the big spray” for everyone to get wet and enjoy. So, don’t forget to bring your swimsuits.

Also, everyone will be enjoying free drinks and hot dogs. Special dance contests will be featured and there is so much to do, you just can’t do it all. Oh yes, remember to bring our cameras!

This is a special event, you don’t want to miss.  Three hours of constant fun for not only the kids, but also the cops!

Remember, see the helicopters, fire engines, cop cars and public safety officers from all over Western Carolina. Eat some free hot dogs and get yourself a free cold drink. This event is just like you - very special!  9 a.m. to noon, Friday, June 22nd - see you there!
