New playground equipment and grading at James F. Crowe Park was completed just in time for the reopening of town parks across the county and state. The playground was officially opened at 5:01 p.m. on Friday, September 4th after the State moved into Phase 2.5 in the coronavirus issue. The new equipment and grading, budgeted at $200,000 by the Town of Forest City, replaces the old equipment that was installed 32 years ago in 1988.
The playground has many features including a small climbing wall, rope climbs, two slides, two xylophones, and much more.
Participating in the official ribbon cutting were Town Council members and Town staff.
The playground is located adjacent to several picnic shelters which are available for rent through the Forest City Parks & Recreation Department Call 828-248-5220 to reserve a shelter.
